the torso will be remade completely - I'll be removing hip yaw rotation. Hands will be added of course, I have all the brackets ready, just not enough time. A head will contain a simple gbcamera. There will also be 2-4 sharp distance sensors. I've bought a sheet of carbon so I'll be lightening the legs a bit too.
Statistics: Posted by mog123 — Sat Dec 10, 2011 3:13 am

I like the proportions. Are you going to extend the torso higher or will you put a head on top of what you have there?
Statistics: Posted by billyzelsnack — Fri Dec 09, 2011 8:37 pm

Thanks for the comment!

this is my latest update: http://xmog123x.blogspot.com/2011/10/as ... lmost.html

Though I've done a bit more. I'm stuck cause I broke one bracket part and I can't complete the second leg right now cause my water cutting company cut out only 4 pcs instead of 6! (Honest mistake, but I'm getting behind schedule).
Statistics: Posted by mog123 — Mon Oct 24, 2011 9:39 pm

Looking good! I like the parallel linkages on the legs. That's a trick I noticed Hiten using to get such good motion with only 4 servos per leg... without them, you really need an extra servo in the ankle just to keep the foot parallel to the floor.

I really want to build a bot using the same principle... the minimalism of it really appeals to me. Need to get up to speed on machining parts, though; so far I've only worked from kits.
Statistics: Posted by Joe — Mon Oct 24, 2011 5:10 am

Yeah, I'm using a vice and hammer the part through a small wooden block. It works really well but it's not that precise, as how I have it in my inventor project. I decided to just order new brackets, with a maximum of 2-3 bends and screw the thing up. That way it'll all fit, always.
Statistics: Posted by mog123 — Mon Mar 14, 2011 12:41 pm

Did you check out any local sheet metal works. They may do it for you.

I used one of these:
http://www.warco.co.uk/Vice-brake-4--wide-746A569580.aspx#
with more success than vice and bending bars alone.

Had to cover part in paper and tape to stop scratching. Maybe you could make something similar. It needs a big solid vice.
Statistics: Posted by i-Bot — Mon Mar 14, 2011 12:44 am

The brackets I've designed are not meant for home bending thats for sure.

Although I will be able to build all the upper part of my humanoid, I will have to redesign the leg brackets to have more screws, and less bending. So a full build will be probably done in mid-late april.
Statistics: Posted by mog123 — Sun Mar 13, 2011 9:51 pm
