Interesting weak point on the Kondo motors

After having two motors dead I have decided to check them out to see what happens. The problem has been the same in both cases: the terminal for M+ in the pcb board of the servos was not making contact. A touch with my iron solder and voila! they work again.

It's great that you managed to fix the problem with the servo!
A message about this has been sent to Kondo.
Please register to the form and benefit from 70M of free space where you can upload pictures, video clips, gait files etc. Surely other people will benefit from your shared experience constructing your KHR-1, programming it, running downloaded gaits, installing the radio control, teaching it to do interesting stuff..

This problem is more frequent than I expected. This happens because the motor is actualy soldered directly to the M+/M- terminals without any other structure that holds it. Any effort on the motor will affect these terminal an eventualy will break and disconnect them. It is a HUGE design error by the side of Kondo. If you have a motor that suddenly seems to be non working or works on and off it is very likely due to this problem.
