Penguin Robot ROLLERSKATE DANCE

It's one thing getting a robot to walk.
Dancing is a whole new challenge.
But dancing on rollerskates is the
ultimate!

Tiny Penguin robot, from Parallax, can
really roller skate dance with these
little homemade roller skates and
a special software program.

The video shows how the skates were
assembled from common household parts.

Wheels were made from round furniture skid
protectors, and the skate boots are from
leftover plastic Maxim part cases.

Desktop rollerskate dancing is accomplished
with only two servos. Some of the motions
are patterned after a human skate dance
team in Asia.

Thanks for the great comments.
When you get your Penguin robot, you can
download all the code from the Parallax
forum in the robotics section where I posted it.
I can also post here upon request.

I've written several dancing programs,
calibration code, programs to enable a TV
remote for infrared wireless, and wireless
soccer, all for the Penguin robot.

I have a new movie and new program here:
