Asimo is the world's only bi-pedal humanoid robot capable of climbing and descending stairs, walking forward and backward, turning smoothly without pausing, and maintaining balance while walking on uneven slopes and surfaces.
I am not sure if this is a true claim!
It's PR hype, probably written by the car dealer. There are certainly ROBO-ONE robots capable of the description. OmniZero and Dynamizer come immediately to mind. And even Asimo size or larger robots like
HRP-2 can do it as well.
Asimo is great - no question - and can do some things better than other similar humanoid robot projects. It's 'running' is really sweet. I put 'running' in quotes because some people would argue that it doesn't do a true human-type run - but only because they've never watched how many of the Japanese here run.
Nevertheless, Asimo isn't the "world's only" by a long shot.
