I feel that Robonova is an Excllent Robot - I did many good things with it, and I will surely continue to work with it in the near future.
If Hitec don't bring out a RN-2 or some serious upgrades soon I think I will buy a KHR-1HV or do what Matt did and cannibalize RN until it is unrecognizable.
That's what I did with my RN. It is very easy to make add-ons to it but what ashame for the lack of space. I dedicated all the summer to upgrade my RN, now it has the following:
22 DOF (including Pan and Tilt head grippers and two extra servos for wrist rotation. No hip rotation yet
)
4 IR sensors
1 sonar
Wireless Camera
Bluesmirf Bluetooth
a Tilt sensor
and SP03 speech module
I have only a place for another sensor and another servo (may be for hip rotation), as you might imagine I have problem with power. I bought a 6V 1300mah battery 109g and it lasts for 45 mins which I think is fair considering all the things he has attched. I am also in the process of modifying some move routines because of the sudden change in weight.
During the coming weeks I will post some photos and videos.
Note: I wouldn't have done all this without the help of people in this forum. Well done guys keep up the good work.
