I had to make a similar decision. I picked the Robonova after discussing with some of the other builders here and on other bulletin boards. Whatever they said made sense - ultimately I picked the one that "looked" better :)

That may sound superficial but I wanted a robot that could impress people when they saw it. The KHR-1 still looks like a lab experiment.

Well it certainly did that - had it working within 24 hours and within 5 days had programmed it to walk up steps.

I haven't tried the KHR-1 so it may be the same case but I know it's the case with RoboNova.
