I live in West Milford, NJ. I am on the verge of purchasing a robo-one style kit. I am in search of other people in my area who have or are interested in these types of robots. I've searched for clubs in New Jersey and haven't been able to find a club dedicated to these types of bipeds in my area. So sound off... Where are you from?

It is hard to find many people in the US that have a humanoid robot. I live in KC, MO and know of no one else who lives with in two or three hundred miles of me. I tried to start a robot club of my own but found little interest. There is a robot club in my area but they all have Lego or Vex robots. Don’t let a lack of interest in your area keep you from buying a humanoid robot though! Just think of your self as a trended setter. Hopefully the interest in the Pleo and I-sobot will get more people into robots? I also hope that the low cost of the RoboPhilo will help the situation more. :)

fnasto, that's about an hour or so away, cool. So what are your opinions of the robonova and the bioloid so far? Do you have any photos or videos posted? Do you belong to any robotics clubs?

I really like both the robonova and the bioloid. The robonova looks great and works really well. Unfortunately the Servos are not as programable as I hoped. Once we can control the servos with pure serial commands It will be much better. Robobasic is the worst part. If I could program using C I would be much further into real development.

I just started with the bioloid a few weeks ago. The servos are great and easy to program. Programming using he provided software is not so good. There are a lot of steps to get something done. I have a lot of experiance with the AVR processors and I'm looking forward to writing some C Code.

Eventually I will put a Gumstix inside them to start some real work. My goal is to someday be able to compete in a Robocup event.

I have a pretty busy job and I don't have much free time. The are no robotics clubs around that I know of. This forum is pretty much my robot club

Thanks for the words of inspiration Gort. I just placed an order for the RoboPhilo. Good luck on your quest to the Robocup fnastro.

Currently I have a lynxmotion brat and I am thinking about the robophilo.
I like the Bioloid alot but I think it's out of my league as a beginner in programming. The robophilo looks like it maybe great for someone beginning who does not have a super large budget to throw at it.

Pohatcong NJ - last exit 78 west

just finished assembly - I would like to see what everyone is doing as far as mods and also get some fight experience. I was thinking of traveling to AZ for the Hitec show in April and maybe take a shot at the obsticle course and battle a bit.
