best forum for non-huminoid robotics?

I am looking to get into non-huminoid robotics and have had problems locating a good forum/source of info.

I can't afford a nice huminoid, and I am looking to create something with some features usually not found in humanoids, so while I have enjoyed looking at what you guys are doing here, I need to find somewhere else to check out.

What are some good robotics forums for non humanoids?

It really depends on what type of 'non-humanoid' you're interested in. The fans of each different type seem to gather in totally different places.

The Micromouse builders have their forum, the combat builders hang out on Delphi, the Lego builders have their hangouts. The best approach is to do some Google searches combining the type of robot with 'forum'.

well that is sortof the problem...

I am looking to build a small r/c car bot, or trackked robot like the SRV-1.

Those are generic, but not found in any big forum..

Lynxmotion and Trossen have good fairly general forums.

If you are after an RC car Bot then have a look at my project for a bit of inspiration.

Even made an instructable

Good luck

I wish I had known Lem (Tempusmaster) was a judge, I might have been tempted to send a couple of jars of local cider his way ;)

That's probably one reason why they don't disclose the judges in advance...

The trossen forums has a nice tutorial section and download section. Very friendly and helpful people there also.
