Sorry to bother you with such a topic and first of all, sorry for my English...

I explain the situation I'm a student with a gumstix and some will to do stuff with it!
The things I have :
- Verdex (XL6P RoHS)
- Robostix (with these i'd like to build an autonomous system...)
- Tweener
- Console-vx

I started by making a link cable between a serial port (DB9) of my computer and the one of the console-vx/tweener... is a 3pin cable enough or do I need to connect all the pins from the mini din 8?
when I put the verdex+console-vx it works perfectly and I have acces to the OE (linux in fact) but when I use this one verdex+tweener+robostix the system keeps on rebooting... this is my first problem!

Another one is my weaknesses in programming that cause me to stop dead at the beggining!
I'm trying (and do not succeed in fact) to understand how to use the entries of the robostix and moreover for that to prevent the OS from rebooting again and again... I use windows XP and also Ubuntu and have both of them on the same computer if that can help...

I thank you for reading and ask for your help ;)
Thank you see you later !

Hi

I can answer one of you questions:

I started by making a link cable between a serial port (DB9) of my computer and the one of the console-vx/tweener... is a 3pin cable enough or do I need to connect all the pins from the mini din 8?

Yes that is all you need I've been using this config for years and it works well.

As for your offer questions you would be better asking them in the gumstix mailing list. Offer the top of my I remeber there being a problem with this config. can't remember the answer. look thought the old questions or google for it.

This forum can help you with the biped question but only a couple of people use gumstix and most of them use there own break out board like my self.

hope this helps Bren

tahnk you very much! For sure now I know I won't have any problem with this cable !

one thing to note.
do not flash the robostix while connected to the gumstix.
I managed to kill 2 robostix this way!
