hi again!

we already have the details for the robobuilder beginner edition we will be selling at bett.

The robots will be performing at the show and by the end of the show Robosavvy intends to sell them with a major discount as a complementary offer to those who come and visit us :)

The robots will be priced at 140 GBP + VAT (that's about 33% discount - 70 GBP off)

We will also accept best offers as we are really determined to send them to three lucky bett visitors.

BTW if you wish to get your hands on the 5740k (Robobuilder on steroids!) we may also be able to cut you a good deal. After all it's better to have it "living" in the UK than send it back to Korea and never see it again

BETT Report

Hi guys

We are finally back home. Bett was a very interesting experience.
We've had a lot of good feedback from the visitors, I got to know the creator of the new MechRC and we even had Philippe from POB demoing their robots.
My favourite POB is definitely the POBHunter: it has a camera and a dart gun. When the camera "sees" the picture of a chicken, it aims at it and shoots!

We've also had the Robobuilder 5740K. I believe it was the first time that Robot came to the western side of the world. The guys from edugeek borrowed it it was quite popular at their stand.
You can check out a video of the 5740K at the edugeek website: http://www.edugeek.net/

NovaOne and iBot came to visit us and I got to meet them: NovaOne on Thursday and iBot on Friday and it was really cool as I got to share lots of info with them with regards to hacking the robobuilder controller and protocol (more to come on the Robobuilder forum).
iBot brought some nice boards he and Novaone developed to add support for Bluetooth PS2 controllers to robobuilder. Their solution is actually more interesting than the one the Robobuilder guys developed for the 5740K (and that can also be purchased separately).
He also brought the board Novaone is developing to the robot race in the next Robosavvy gathering.
It's quite interesting: they use a camera from the wiimote to track two IR sources on the finish line and this way the Robonova can aim at the lights and run in a straight line.

We will be posting some photos of our stand soon. Limor and Philippe had the cameras so I'm waiting for them to send me the pics.

Finally, with regards to the 5740K we had, the servos were a modified version of the standard 1108 and 1111.
The 4th gear (the big one) was metal instead of plastic. (gear number 4 is plastic on both the standard 1108 and 1111).
The servos felt a lot sturdier.
If you guys want, we can have Robobuilder ship us a special batch of number 4 metal gears for everyone who's interested. They should cost about 7.50GBP (incl VAT). If you're want some, please drop a note here on the forum so we can see how many we need and place the order.

iBot brought some nice boards he and Novaone developed to add support for Bluetooth PS2 controllers to robobuilder. .........

I can only take credit for the PS2 PCB manufacture.....all based on lots of hard work by i-Bot :!:

He also brought the board Novaone is developing for the robot race in the next Robosavvy gathering.

Sorry I can't take credit for that one at all....I am working on boards for a couple of people but based on i-Bot excellent design.
