ICS PC connector design for KHR

Hi Guys,

I have read a response from Limor on the possible way to design a connector to make your own serial to pc connector for KHR. The problem is I followed the design and KHR does not see the connection. I believe the problem may be I'm not using the proper resistor. The pin layout proposed is as follows:

Pin 5 - ground-Black wire
Pin 4 & 2 (resistor bridge) - Red wire
Pin 3 - White wire

I do not want or need the USB connector as that ties you down to wires only and when u want wireless connectivity to the pc tiy either use blue tooth or standard serial hencemy reasoning. The conection class is supposed to be RS232C.

I sure hope you can help! It's rather odd the weak documentation that exists online to help secure the design.

Hi Limor,

Any chance to check the link or work your magic to help me ascertain what ohm resistor to use or if in fact there is a ready made connector to suffice.

I really can't remember the details. i kind of recall that this was some rough substitute for a MAX232 that converts the voltages between MCU boards and PC serial.
there are some talks in that thread about the meaning of that resistor.
I hope you have by now solved the problem or found another solution.
