Hi

I have been looking at adding some new forms of interaction to our product catalogue:

- Speaker output systems - to have you robot speak or something like that :)

I have found 2 and would really like your opinion on which you'd prefer:

One is TTL: http://www.quadravox.com/store/proddeta ... prod=QV606 has built in memory and amplifier but needs a USB2Serial programmer for downloading the sounds.

The other one is SPI: http://www.4dsystems.com.au/prod.php?id=73
This one uses a MicroSD card where you save the sound files. However the use of SPI doesn't really help I guess....

- We also found a new Voice Recognition System that is TTL as well.
This one was developed for Robonova but it is also compatible with any host that has TTL level UART (Arduino for example is a good candidate :) )
I'll have to check if it works with the new Bioloid because the new CM510 exposes a second UART.

- Finally there is a new embedded Camera from 4d Systems:
http://www.4dsystems.com.au/prod.php?id=75
It uses TTL serial as well.

What is your opinion on this?
Do you find any of these interesting for your robots or projects?

Pedro.

Hey Pedro,

I am interested in the Voice Recognition System. More details would be great!

Dell Latitude D520, Windows XP, 4 GB RAM, 80 GB HDD, Intel Core 2 Duo. The power that's needed!

Hi srobot

We finally got more details.

They are here

VRbot protocol (protocol on the TTL serial line):
http://robosavvy.com/RoboSavvyPages/VRb ... otocol.pdf

Software for setting the Voice commands:
http://robosavvy.com/RoboSavvyPages/VRb ... -1.0.6.zip

Also make sure you check out the sample video here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=POSJNgdKgGg

It is a bit long and is about installing it on Robonova I although it can be used with any other device that has a COMM port at TTL level.
