Dasatech Genibo QD - The Intelligent pet robot

I know this thread is old, but I just wanted to post as a recent genibo owner. I guess Pcenginefx has dropped off the genibo posting for the same reason as I am.

Genibo is an incredible waste of $2000. I would compare it to an i-cybie more than an aibo.

Genibo needs to be told what to do. An aibo will hear you whenever you speak and choose to ignore you depending on it’s mood. Genibo on the other hand will constantly sit, “blink” sound, blue question marks in it’s eyes and wait for your voice command. After you give it, it then takes genibo several frozen seconds to register that command before it puts it into action. If you don’t give it a voice command it will do one of two things; go through the whole process again and again until you do or go to sleep and switch itself off.

Of course you can pat it if you wish but the same predictable outcome of it wagging it’s tail then lying on it’s stomach to receive more pats soon becomes dull. Genibo cannot think autonomously like an aibo does. It’s limited course of actions are walk a few steps, bark, wait for a voice command (of which there are only a few) or get bored and switch itself off after 5 minutes. Heck my i-cybie can do that.

Genibo becomes boring and predictable after only a few battery cycles and the manufacturer seems to have stepped away from it as they do not respond to emails or forum posts on their own Genibo site.
