I just ordered the wowee robopet and saw in a youtube video that I can program it to respond to different voice commands. Does anyone know how I can initially connect it to my computer? Do I need to buy a special part?

I'm not sure which video you saw, but it was probably using the RoboDance software.

You'll need that software, an IR interface that's compatible with RoboDance, the voice recognition software that works with the application, etc. It isn't easy, but can be done.
