Has anyone thought of making a customcarbon frame to replace the old part on there KHR-1?
Would it be any better in respects to strenght and weight?

I don't see much advantage in carbon parts on this robot. His frame is already very light, but it is a bit weak in areas like the thigh brackets. I could see adding parts to augment the aluminum parts where necessary. Maybe adding a couple Degrees Of Freedom would be more rewarding for your efforts, unless that custom look is what you are going for, like a carbon hood on a honda civic.

I assume you mean replacing some of the aluminium brackets with CF ones? there would be a slight wieght advantage in doing so, but there would also be more flex in the parts if they were made of CF, which could get problematic. perhaps lexan would give a similiar weight advantage with less of the flex.
a CF KHR-1 would look badass though! 8)
