Many of you who watched the video of Manoi PF01 may think that the motion of Manoi PF01 is very slow. This is not true.
The 2nd Kyosho Athletic Humanoid Cup was held on Dec. 9, 2007 at Akihabara, Japan.

Manoi PF01 "Riko" built by Mr. Ogino was ranked in the 3rd in 5 meter dash, beating all the normal servo Manoi AT01s. The time was 16.63 sec. You can find the movie of this race at the URL bellow.

Mr Ogino did several modifications to "Riko" to make the robot body rigid. Mr Ogino replaced all the gears in default KRS-4024SHV servos with metal gears for KRS-4014.
My Manoi PF01 "Metallic Blue" was ranked in 8th in 5 meter dash. The time was 22.81 sec. This time is almost comparable to the time of normal Manoi AT01s although Manoi PF01 is 500g heavier than AT01. I modified several parts of PF01 according to the advices from Mr. Ogino and several robot builders. The modifications that I did are summarized in my home page.

My Manoi PF01 "Metallic Blue" uses completely normal servos.
I think that PF01 can be a very good base robot for athletic competitions with remarkably lovable outlook.
