limor, we are leaving more and more the robotics. Thats Off Topic, i assume, and i hope its ok.
But no matter, here we go:
The wheels are from KAVAN, they are under pressure with 1 bar (14 psi). And if KAVAN says 1 bar, they mean 1 bar. I tried 3 bar, but just for a short while:
The axles are from a Tamiya Dump Truck. The Suspension is realy none, the axles are only minimal moveable to absorb the direct shock of an impact. The air wheels have to do the work, and the torsion of the chassis.
My machine park is small, i use a vertical drilling machine, a small lathe, a plate shear and a big hammer. further a blowpipe, a machinist vise and a power drill.
