Hi

I posted on general, but i'm posting it here specifically:

During BETT we had 5740 Robobuilder which came with a modified version of the 1108 and 1111 servos: gear number 4 was metal instead of plastic (gear number 4 is the big one and it's plastic on both the 1108 and 1111).
The servos felt a lot sturdier with this modification.

We can order a special batch of these gears from Robobuilder for all the guys who want to modify their servos.
The cost of each gear should be about 7.50GBP (incl vat). If you're interested please drop a note here or on general saying how many you would like (for 1108 and 1111) and we'll have them shipped with our next order from Robobuilder.

Please note we're not planning to stock the metal gears on a regular basis. We're planning on doing this one-time thing specially for our community members :)

Hi,

Looks like replacing gear 4 will give advantage for both the gear and for servo connectors.

I will need 10 gears for wCK-1111 which I have in my legs. I still have 4 wCK-1108 in feet, but will not upgrade those now.

Will the wCK with metal gears become a standard product, instead of upgrade in future ? What is lowest cost if I want to change the foot servo to metal gear 1111 ?

Still, I am definite for 10 gear 4 for wCK-1111 for your order

Hi iBot

Currently there are no Servos from Robobuilder that come with the 4th metal gear.

With regards to the future, I don't really know what are their plans but I can certainly ask them.
As we had the opportunity to discuss, they seem to be at a standstill with regards to developing the new versions of the servos (high power, etc).

Right now, according to the latest email I received from RB, their focus is developing the integration with Microsoft Robotics Studio and gradually replace ActionBuilder and MotionBuilder.
I've also suggested they add support to communicate with the Servo's IO ports and they seem to react positively so let's see.
