Hi guys,

I just finished some appearance mods on my RoboBuilder kit (hey, if he faces another one in competition, I want to be able to tell which is mine!). Thought I'd share them here first:

Image

Those are silver body plates (they look a little gold in the picture, but that's just my poor photography). And of course that red light in the head cycles back and forth, Cylon-style.

Under that shiny exterior is a 3-axis accelerometer and a Bluetooth module, and l3v3rz and I are working on some custom firmware. I'm hoping to have him ready to participate in RoboGames 2009, though there is still a lot to do...

Including picking a name. I'm terrible at naming robots. Any suggestions?

Cheers,
- Joe

I was going for more of an early-Cylon look than a Gort look... but now that you mention it, I do see the resemblance!

That's right. Several coats, with buffing in between. I got a little cracking on one shoulder, but quickly decided that I could live with it. :)
