Storing motion sequence in correct order

The manual states that before we store a motion we have to be mindful it will overwrite what exists on the controllers memory. They also state that the sequence starts at button 1, 2.. so on as you save a new motion. My question is what constitutes a new motion storing starting at Button 1. I am assuming once you close a connection the controller assumes the sequence is to be overwritten from Button 1 and so on.
Can someone verify this is the case. Also does the software assume you intend to populate all sequences Buttons 1 to 9, 0 and the #1 to #9, #0. Also in the event you have a nonstandard servo # does the preset buttons we cannot modify , how will the controller compensate for this? Or is it for non standard configurations we cannot use the preset buttons 'normal motion buttons'?

Lastly how does one contact Robobuilder by email??

Thanks

Mark

Hi,

I am not expert on this, but this what I found so far.

I have 18 DOF with two extra servos (16 and 17) for hips.

Used Motion builder in Creator_Other Mode and controller in non-standard mode.

Reentered all on the standard motions in the 18DOF, beacuse I could not find an easy way to convert.

The download counter from motionbuilder seems to reset to zero after the controller is powered off and back on. Opening and closing port, or motionbuilder application does not seem to reset count. Use available memory as a guide.

Download is better done with the Robobuilder Download tool, which allows you to order the motion files.

I use a PS2 controller which emulates the IR controller. I have mapped the 20 number buttons to the PS2 buttons and never send the standard HUNO codes.

Hope this helps.

Hi i-Bot,

You have been most helpful. You were able to answer three main points quite clearly, so that is 3 less areas for me to debate over! I will now be mindful on the following:

1) Not attempting to reconfigure the standard motion buttons. I will
2) Complete 20 motion sequences to save to the controller
3) Turn the controller off/on before attempting to upload motions

I have one quickie question, when you say to only use the download tool do you mean the tool in the motion builder app?

Thanks a mil for sharing your experience!

Cheers

Mark

The download tool is on the Robobuilder site here:
http://robobuilder.net/eng/board/board_ ... un=default

Better than download from Motion builder.

Cheers,
Richard

Best Regards

Hi i-Bot,

Your advice worked spot on. I wanted to highlight my experience so tohers who may be afflicted will understand what caused my problem.

It seems that only the 'Creator Others' is most friendly to recognise any configuration beyond 16DOF. Despite the manual showing Exper Huno, DO NOT USE this type as it should work but it won't. I didnt check the header difference of the files yet but it doesnt store correctly and was the root of my problem.

Thanks again dude! I hope my contribution in manipulating the robot remotely in another thread pays you back somewhat in your research.

Cheers
