Hi everybody,

just wanted to know if there were a board allowing to connect more than 1 distance sensor or any kind of analog sensor on the robobuilder.

Thx

Hi

All servos in Robobuilder come with an analogue IO port.
That means you can connect and A/D sensor to each servo.

However, to read and control those sensors you will either need to write your own C code ( using the base available here http://robosavvy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3379 ) or use PC control mode (over Bluetooth for example).

To attach the sensors to a servo IO port you'll need to remove the IO port cover and solder the wires to the solder pads.

Information on the servo IO ports is available here http://robosavvy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3324#19087

The same thread also features a windows library to control the servos and query the sensors from the PC.

I'd suggest that after you've soldered a wire to the pads that you are very careful not to tug on the wires - you really don't want to strip a track from the PCB. The easiest way to prevent this is to (once it works) to epoxy the wires in place.

I must agree with RandomMatt. I did not glue them and did strip a track from the pcb :S

I was told hot glue would also do the trick but I haven't tested though.

BTW if you're looking for A/D sensors to play with/attach to Robobuilder, Robosavvy has some packs available here http://robosavvy.com/store/product_info ... cts_id/368 (9 sensors) and here http://robosavvy.com/store/product_info ... cts_id/369 (3 sensors).
The full list of sensors available is here http://robosavvy.com/store/index.php/cPath/27.

Don't mention spammers, while I have a hot glue gun in my hand.

Though I actually use thick superglue and activator for a quick solid wire tag.
