wCK speed ... need faster movements

Hi all!
Sorry for all of the questions. I've been experimenting and can't seem to find the right settings.

I'm trying to get the wCKs to move fast, like a kick movement.
I've changed the frames and transit time, and I've changed the torque setting to 1 but it seems it still doesn't move very fast. Not as fast as the wCKs can move when you spin the dial in MotionBuilder.

Could someone point me in the right direction for this?

Thanks so much!

I'm having fun trying to copy movements from other robots on YouTube, but I can't get things to move fast enough.

How are you controlling the servos ? have you set both speed and acceleration values ?

l3v3rz,
I'm just using Motion Builder and doing the pose-capture process and then attempting to change settings there.

Where do I find the acceleration settings?

Thanks.

I can't see them in motion builder, but wck programmer enables you to set on a per servo basis, the default (on mine) seems to be 60 -(not sure of units), max value can be 100. Its not really clear what these settings do - so you may need to just experiment.

BTW - any chance of publishing your rbm files ?

cheers

Thanks for the info.

I'll see if any are really fit to post. They are really "rough" and most are first-attempts.

I'm going to get back on the "walking" this long weekend.

Has anyone fabricated a stand to hold the robot to do motions like this?
It seems very difficult to get a walk to work with any decency.

I'd like to do something like this, too ... (the walk and the somersault)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aEyIGI1uvP8

It shouldn't be this hard ... unless I'm over thinking things as well as my newness to the robot/software.

Also, I tried to upload an rbm file, but it wouldn't take it. Not a supported file type. Should I change the file extension?

rbm are basically ascii files - so you could rename .txt - or may be just zip it.

Yes. I've played with that "running" file. Really fast!

I was messing with a walk today at lunch and was looking to try to duplicate the first step and mirror it for the second. Looking at the Motion Builder interface, the labels for [Torq] and [Disp] are swapped! If you double click in one of the boxes for [Disp] I get torque settings!

Perhaps I have the older version of it. The date stamp on the file is December 3, 2008.

Also, does anyone know if there are "commands" in MotionBuilder for the [Frame] name or is that just a test label?

Thanks!

I'll try and post some motions & videos this weekend.
