Hi all

Robobuilder has released a new revision of the Library for Microsoft Robotics studio, along with a 200+ page manual.

The innovations available in the library + new manual include:
- Using Windows Speech Recognition to control the robot with voice commands
- Using an Xbox Remote control to control the Robot

The controls available for the Robot seem to be the same as in other releases:
- Play Motions and Sounds.
Unfortunately querying the sensors in real time seems to be still missing from the Library.

However the new additions seem a very positive improvement and finally bring distinctive features to the robot (such as Speech Recognition - although performed on the PC)

The manual details the examples mentioned above as well as many others.
It includes a very thorough introduction to the Visual Programming Language (for total beginners) and a number of useful interesting resources and reference tables.

The first pages may be a bit boring for us Roboteers as they go through a history of Robots, the history of MSRDS, etc. Having said that, be sure to scroll through the document to find the most interesting things.

- Robobuilder MSRDS Manual (200+ pages)

- Robobuidler Library for MSRDS R2 (this updated library enables the creation of samples in the manual above).
http://robosavvy.com/RoboSavvyPages/Rob ... -install(0).exe
I'm not sure but from what I understand you need to be running firmware 2.26 available here http://www.robobuilder.net/eng/board/bo ... ame=morgue

- MS Robotics Development Studio R2
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... aa87dfd01e

Let me know your thoughts. From what I've seen this release finally adds motivations and enough reasons to use MSRDS with Robobuilder.

Pedro.

Thanks to Robobuilders for inventing new revision of the Library for Microsoft Robotics studio. The 200+ page manual will be very helpful for the core understanding of all its functionality. When you start working with your robots which could interact with real world, the first requirement which you could have is that these robots could speak to persons they are working for. You can take advantage of the speech API of Microsoft or any other third party API. And indeed robobuilders has achieved that target also.

If you look at games, they are visualizations of robots which can move and have different senses. There are different objects on the screen which may work concurrently. Object actions depend on their position.
