that's it .. for your questions, the software works very well when I do not use Bluetooth to connect the robot to the PC.

by cons I do not know how to use script and even less write them .. the problem must come from the software key .. but I do not know how to remedy it. I am on windows xp sp3.

If the problem only occurs when you use Bluetooth, then it could be one of 2 things.

What happens when you try to use Bluetooth?

1) The computer shows a Bluescreen and then restarts?
If this is the case, the problem is caused by the Bluetooth drivers in your PC.
You will need to look for updated drivers for your PC, in particular for the bluetooth on your PC.

It could also be a problem of Direct X (although I sincerelly doubt because the joystick works fine without the Bluetooth).
In any case, if you want, try downloading and installing the latest version of DirectX on your PC

2) If only the program closes (but the computer does not restart) then it is a bug in the software.
This was never seen before in a scenario like the one you describe.



Another thing you could do is try to use the software AND the Bluetooth on a different computer.
If this works on a different computer then it's for sure the problem I described in 1).

I updated DirectX as requested .. nothing has changed. I tried to do it on another computer.

From the video, I am 99.9% sure the problem is caused by the Bluetooth device drivers in your computer.

The only way windows can have a bluescreen is when it's caused by a device driver because drivers run in Kernel Space.

Therefore I suggest that you check what is the Manufacturer of your Bluetooth Dongle in your computer and then go to their website to download updated Drivers.


This seems related to the Bluetooth dongle you have IN your computer; not the software you are using.

I have another suggestion:

You can use Microsoft Robotics Studio to create a simple program that uses the Remote to control Robobuilder.
(create a program that does the same as the program you were using).

There is a very nice manual from Robobuilder about using Microsoft Robotics studio so I recommend that you have a look here:

It also works with Bluetooth and you can even use other functions such as voice commands to control your robobuilder.

My suggestion is that you go through the manual and learn about MSRDS step by step following the Tuturials mentioned.

How Can a usb bluetooth adapter connect me to my wireless router? I have a 2wire modem and i have one of my computers hooked up on it. But, I have another computer with windows XP and i want to know how to hook it up wireless with the bluetooth adapter. Is this possible or is bluetooth adapters only for bluetooth.

No - the 2 wire unit only supports wifi connections.

You could possibly connect both laptops using bluetooth, and then extend the internet connection from the one connected to the router.

Hey all Iv been browsing these forums for awhile now but never did register but this seems to be the most active community on this humanoid that I can find. So naturally i figured this would be the best place to post my question.

I just recently came into possession of the bluetooth module for this robot. Except my module is a little different then the one listed here.

My bluetooth adapter came with the module that solders onto the Robobuilder board, and then there is a base station which has an identical bluetooth module on it which then plugs into power and the serial connection cable that comes with Robobuilder. The base station also has 4 servo ports on it.

The problem I'm having is how can I pare Robobuilder with the bluetooth that is on my computer rather then use this base station. With the base station I can get it to work fine along with the Serial to USB converter. But I would much rather eliminate the need to have all these extra wires and the extra board.

For some reason I can't get my bluetooth dongle to find the chip on Robobuilder. Is there a special way to pare these or am I just totally missing something?

Any help is greatly appreciated I will continue to fiddle with this and see if I can get it to work.

I recently made some research about the possibility to connect my AVR development board (Equipped with a Uart Bluetooth module) to my cheap NOKIA 5000. Due to the fact that my mobile phone supports Java and Bluetooth I decided to search for a java based Bluetooth Terminal Software. While browsing the Internet I did not find any Java J2ME based application which can act as a Bluetooth Terminal (like HyperTerminal). I have decided to develop this Software myself and now I have released version 1.0 of my Cell phone Bluetooth Terminal Software called BTTerm.
