I am not going to use C but Java. I am going to make use of the JMF framework for analysing frames coming from the camera and USB2Dynamixel to connect to dynamixels. In fact the only problem I have is where to put USB2Dynamixel in my humanoid.

Is Logitech webcam work on Roboard?

I used 3 different cam, but failed at last.

1. QuickCam Easy/Cool
2. QuickCam Pro 5000
3. QuickCam Orbit/Sphere

They are all work on my PC.

I found that it just failed on Logitech Application,

but it's ok with Windows API, and quite slow.

The roboard does not have MMX instructions and therefore some programs will not work.
Also not all cameras work on the robaord: the ones that have drivers that rely on MMX will also fail.

As final notice, the board is 486 based, therefore you can't expect the performance of a dual core intel processor... let's keep it real here.

At low resolutions people have been able to get decent frame rates, enough for a Vision Processing App.
Please see on this forum as there is a Webcam model from microsoft that is known to work well with the board.

Regards
Pedro.
