I have managed to get the parallax Ping sonar working with the roboard (I can provide code if anyone is interested) and am using a simple voltage divider to take the GPIO line from the roboard from 6V to 5V.
I was wondering if there was any clamp circuit that would translate the GPIO values to 5V independently on the voltage powering the roboard. In my case if I change the power to say 9V, I need to change the resistors in the voltage dividers to get 9V down to 5V.
I did find some circuits with diodes, but they would take a fair amount of current once over the 5V level.
Thanks,
-Don
