A few things to check:
1)
Make sure you are using OUR Robosavvy modified IDE drivers with nLite. This is FUNDAMENTAL for it to work.
If you use the IDE drivers from the ROboard website it will not work with nLite.
Another thing is installing with a copy of Windows XP that already has SP2 or SP3 inside (slipstreamed).
I am not sure if an RTM install of Windows XP will work as the initial release lacked support for many technologies.

The installation is supposed to take some hours (4-6 hrs).
When you say it seems to stop, can you post a picture of what the screen shows when the installation is stopped?
3)
Are you sure the VGA cable you attached to the VGA card is not broken and that the monitor is not out of range in case you're using an LCD?
Many LCDs will go off if the signal is out of their expected range. You often need to press some button to "Auto adjust" to put them back in range.
4)
As I always mention, this is a 486 based board. All LOW power consumption x86 boards descend from this architecture as no other intel architecture is able to draw such little power. Extremely low power consumption is mandatory for mobile robotic applications which is the aim of this board.
This is achieved at the expense of using 486 architecture which means this not a superscalar processor (ie no advanced pipelining like you find in pentiums; no MMX and no SSE).
Having said this, the installation takes a lot of time but once it's completed it should work fine and the performance is good for a robotic/mobile app.
It's just the install routine that takes a long time. It will seem to halt/lock several times during the install (sometimes for over 30 minutes) but it always continues.
We obviously recommend against using Anti virus of third party firewalls as these add layers of overhead that slow down the board.
