Hi!

Im running a linux on RB100, exactly I compiled the sources avalilables in official site of roboard with support CAN bus.
Now, I need setup the nodes of canopen network and I need know if I want a real time kernel. I saw realtime kernel named Xenomai and rtai but a dont know the difference.
How I can setup my kernel to support real time? If exits some types of realtimes, any suggest?

Thanks a lot!!

Hi,

currently, the Linux kernel source in the official RoBoard site doesn't enable realtime kernels.

And then, I cant enable realtime module if I patched the official kernel and recompile it??
What steps must I do to have a realtime kernel?

Regards,

In theory, you may be able to patch the official kernel source to get a working realtime kernel using some famous realtime kernel patches that can be found on Internet. :)

But we have no experience on this issue, and need to try it. :(

Hello,

I managed to have a working real-time kernel on the roboard RB-100 :
http://geonobot-wiki.toile-libre.org/do ... on_roboard

To test the veltrop kernel, if you have an ubuntu, just do :
Code: Select all
sudo aptitude install linux-rt

We talk about it here too :

Have fun,
Gilles
