Roboard ISO Distributions - Anyone Wanna Swap ?

So this is a call out to anyone that has an ISO Linux distribution of a pretty much setup roboard RB-100 preferably setup to use the HITEC HSR-8498 servos.
I have just setup one of my RoboNova's with the RoBoard and a SliTaz install and am looking to see what other people have got so far in the realm of OS builds.
I have been playing around with Slitaz Linux which seems to run quite nice on the board, < 10 secs startup and full GUI interface @ under 30Mb.

Would be happy to swap an ISO of what I have built so far with anyone that has gone a different route and got the integration stuff done.
With this image you can just burn the ISO straight to a MicroSD, and boot it in 10 secs (total install time would be < 5 mins ).
I have also put in Synergy 1.3.1 so you can use the VGA card and just one KB and mouse on your main computer, no VNC or anything, just scroll from screen to screen.
argos any chance you could post your copy of slitaz compiled to a rapidshare or converse to swap images / ideas ?

Hey,
I have been trying to get SliTaz installed on roboard 110 and have failed so far. I have installed SliTaz on my microsd card, it boots, but it doesn't get all the way to the gui, rather has a kernel panic saying 'please append correct "root=" boot option'. Even though I have nothing to offer in a trade, would you mind putting up your iso?

Sure bud, I will get a copy of my image off my card and put it on a file sharing site and put the link here tonight.
You are running the new RB-110 board I am guessing (has 16 PWM channels rather than 32)
Not sure how you installed it, but I think I booted up another machine I had with a SliTaz live CD in it, then went to create a USB install set on a USB key, booted that in the Roboard with a blank microSD in it, then proceeded to install off the USB onto the microSD.
I am unsure if there are differences between the RB-100 and the RB-110 but we will see I guess.
I will post the link to the ISO download as soon as I have a chance to get it off the microSD and onto a download site... I think its about 30Mb or less. Even with all the stuff I have installed on it.

I used the same approach to install mine, although now that I think about it I do notice a difference. When I boot the roboard using the livecd and try to install on the microsd card, I can't get Slitaz to recognize the microsd card from the actual microsd slot in the roboard, I must do it through a USB adapter. Perhaps this is the problem? Did you install onto the microsd with it in the roboard itself?
The interesting thing is, when trying to boot the installed system which is on the microsd, whether or not it is in the roboard microsd slot or the usb adapter, the result is exactly the same, as I described above.

I have my RB-100 up and running on Debian 5 from the micro-sd card. I have the kernel recompiled for wifi support, and I have successfully compiled drivers for the mini-pci wifi card as well as the very small D-Link DWA-131
I'm using mainly Hitec hs82mg PWM servos with no feedback. I'm also using Dynamixel RX-28 and RX-64 servos, as well as a simple I2C compass.
I have used it with a monitor and keyboard, and I have also booted the console to serial.
The boot time is about 45 seconds, but I have not actually timed it, nor have I made any effort to speed it up.
I don't know if anyone is interested...

I'm happy to provide it for you, but I don't know how to go about doing it.
I followed the Debian install guide, but it did take a few tries to get it working, and doing the kernel stuff was a pain in the ass since it was the first time I've had to compile a kernel.
Do you have any suggestions on how to make an image of my uSD card?
I can get you the kernel I'm using along with the compiled drivers and kernel-headers pretty easily.

I am also trying the debian install currently, however I keep on getting hung up on the networking. I had no problem creating the bootable usb stick, and it booted just fine, but each time the install tries to find the network, it fails and the installation cannot be completed without connecting to the servers. I am currently trying the fuller version of debian (netinst as opposed to businesscard), maybe the fuller package will help recognize the network or simply not need it altogether.
Which one did you use, and did you have this problem?
As far as making a copy of your microsd, I'm guessing you have a fat16 file system, as that is what you are instructed to format it to. Perhaps you can simply copy everything off of your micro sd and zip it up, and post it that way? You could even do it in windows since windows recognizes fat16. I don't see why this would not work.

I had no problem with the networking, I hooked up through ethernet and all worked fine, although the r6040 driver caused kernel panics due to the avahi-daemon when I first tried installing Java (although I did eventually work around it).
I did use the business card distro.

I unfortunately do not have my usb enclosure for my uSD card, so I can't make a block for block copy using gparted, and I'm travelling, doing research, for the next month, so I can't get to it.

Well, another status update:
I've used netinst, and this time got past the ethernet problem. Although I could not connect, it did not matter since all of the files necessary to install were present. However, even after a successful install I ran into the same problem which I had with SliTaz, "VFS: cannot open root device" and this is a kernel panic which stops the system dead in its tracks before I get to the GUI.
I have been led to believe that this is a problem with Menu.lst as part of root booting options, and have messed around with it to try to go around this problem, but no cigar.
All of my previous attempts have included two partitions on the microsd, one for swap space, and one for the install. This time I am trying to install without swap space (damn), in order to see whether forcing it to have just one partition will help the problem.
Has anyone faced this?
