Hi all
(this is re-post from the original post by "roboard" here
http://robosavvy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=31737#31737 )
We're proud to announce, the
Roboard division has released a new Linux kernel version 2.6.34.10.
The special thing about it is that it includes
drivers for USB Webcams + VT6655 wireless LAN card.
In addition, the drivers for the Built in ethernet (and built in HD Audio on eBox 3350/Vortex86MX) are also included.
This kernel version is
compatible with DMP devices, including:
- Roboard (Vortex86DX)
- eBox 3350 (Vortex86MX) - tested under Ubuntun 10.04 LTS.
For eBox this is particularly important as the initial recommended kernel (v 2.6.34.1) did NOT include drivers for USB webcams so we weren't being able to use OpenCV.
We can report successfully running OpenCV in real time on the eBox using a USB Webcam after upgrading to this new kernel (using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS).
The new Kernel v 2.6.34.10 is mirrored here
http://robosavvy.com/RoboSavvyPages/DMP ... 2_i386.zip for your convenience (or can be downloaded from the
Roboard website directly; advanced users can find the
Kernel Source code on the Roboard website )
Instructions for installation and a mirror with other kernel versions can be found under
