Roboard and Microsoft Robotics Developer?

Hy

First of all I have to say, that i am really new to robots and programming. I am an mechanical engineer and so i don't know a lot about hardware and software. But I am interested and so i built a hexapod robot out of a load of china-servos :D . For contolling i use the Roboard RB-110 with WinXP. I set it up and i already have my first programms running. Because the RB110 doesnÄt have enought PWM outputs i use a I2C-Slave Controller-Board to control the Servos.

My first success so far is to make it stand up. not really good but it stands up (the end of the legs don't remain in one point). If interested here is a video:

Now my question: nearly every shop where you can buy the Roboard writes, that it is perfect to work with Microsoft Robotics Developer. But how can i use the Roboard Library in there? As far i have tested it, I have no idea how to work with it.
Does someone has experience with it?

Sorry for my bad english, but it seems this forum here is the only one with experience with the roboard

Greetings from Austria

Most of the product descriptions were written when Microsoft Robotics Studio was a hot new promise for Robotics. The reality was an over complex solution with little take up by real robotic developers.

Since that time Linux has become the platform of choice for most high end developers; and ROS offers many of the key capabilites of MSRS with lower overhead and much better support.

Thanks fpr the answer

I never heared about ROS, but it sounds interesting. unfotunly i have no experience with Linux. How does developers usually work with the Roboard? I startet writing in C in Microsoft Visual. Is this common or is there some kind of graphic programming language too? this would make the use more easy.
