Oh, I forgot to say!! No , We use motor loads, but not the one from robotis. we calculate it using the position feedback from motors.

we have drawn the load curves of motors during walking/searching and have identified which motors are having more different load curves during walking and lying. it is relative to the motion which servo, or combination of servos should be used. methods like integration over the time can also be used to increase the reliability. but first step is to draw the curves  .

Is this camera available retail anywhere? I presume it has an onboard microcontroller for the image processing?

Are there any plans for stereoscopic versions with depth perception?

Hi,

Yes, the module has an on-board processor which processes the image and communicates with the outside world. we are also working on a stereo version. The module is unfortunately not yet availaible to purchase. however it may be possible to prepare some. just send me an e-mail to moballegh-a-t-gmail.com and i will forward it to our project leader.

Yours,
Hamid.

I was wondering if Hamid has made any more progress on coming out with the Bioloid Vision Module for public sale? I would be very interested.

Hi all,

There are good news!!! Our team has got the 3rd place in RoboCup humanoid league :D . We are the first team achieved this state, using only the Bioloid. Thank to our vision module, we had one of the best performances in finding and localizing the objects over the field.
I am now going to make a small trip home to rest alittle bit and organize everything about commercializing the module and making it available for everyone to use. I will also post some more photos and videos from our games in RoboCup as soon as they are ready.

Congratulations!

What kind of processing power do you have on-board? How are you interfacing to the bus?

I'd definitely be interested in getting one of the vision modules, so let me know when they are ready...

Hi all,

I am now back from my vacations, and ready to start commertializing process of the vision module. For the first step we are going to produce a relative small amounth of the modules. I would like to have your suggestions/requests to estimate our market and finalize our product.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Hamid.
