Hi Hamid,

I am pleased to report your recommendation worked perfectly! I was able to lower the transmit speed by increasing both the Hblank and Vblank registers. Now the Havimo2 and Havimo1.x both behave seamlessly with my App for Raw sample commands!

Cheers

Hi Raymond,

Nice to hear that :D

It would be great if you could also make your product available to everyone.

best regards,
Hamid.

Hi Hamid,

I will happy to share the application. I am finalising the suite of Robotic Tools and making a shareware version so everyone can play with it to experience how cool your products and other peripherals behave with Robotis-Dynamixel compatible devices. I can make a freeware version for simple video capture using the Havimo's for newbies to see the power of the device. I will post the website and link within 30days when I should be finished.

Cheers

@hamid: Hello, any updates on the opensourcing of the calibration program?

@Raymond: Hello, did you finish your code?

Thanks!

Also, I need to buy 2 additional AX-12 servos to do the pan&tilt mechanism, on which the havimo2 camera will be put.

Is this correct? :?

can someone tell me how to get a read data, using dxl_sdk made by robotis (in visual studio 2005) ?
i would like to display a data output table(like in last page of "havimo quick star" ) in i.e. textbox. and i don't know how.
there is no problem to read a feedback from servos and write it to textbox (using dxl_read_word), but how to do it with havimo 1.5??
i need realy quick answer. thanks!!

HaViMo2 and RoboPlus Task

Post by garycmartin » Sat Feb 19, 2011 4:24 pm

Hi, I've been tinkering with a recently purchased HaViMo2 module for use on a BIOLOID Premium humanoid. Having gone through the various HaViMo pdf documents available, I was hoping to find at least one example (or some hints) in using RoboPlus Task on a CM510 to query the camera image processing data results. At some (fairly future) point I'll likely be using a Roboboard (or some equivalent) with a full Linux OS, where the various C based api/example will be very useful, but for now I was hoping to use the standard Robotis scripting tools. Any one have any hints or success stories? I'd been holding out for the HaViMo2 in the hopes that there would be some closer RoboPlus support.

Hi garycmartin,

Following you can find a roboplus example of a wheeled robot following an object of color=1.

Hi Hamid,

Fantastic, that was just what I was after. It works a treat, many thanks! Once I've had a little more time to tinker I'll start a new thread and post some example task files.

Hi Hamid.

Please forgive me if these questions have been asked before.

I am considering buying a module (probably Havimo2) but can you tell me if this can be used on other robotic platforms. Something that I build myself using a microcontroller board such as Arduino or Picaxe?

Also, is the Havimo2 the same size as the 1.5? In other words, will it fit in the AX-S1 like the 1.5 does?

Thank you.

Not working Hamivo1.5

Hi Hamid,

I am having problems with running the calibration software. I just purchase the Hamivo2 vision module and the hamivo1.5. the software can recognize the camera but when collecting sample pic, in the middle of the process, an error warning appears, cameracalib15, communication error!. Other thing is that it needs to be reset all the time in order to be recognized.
I have already followed the documentation, but still cant solve the problem.
Please do let me pass me the link if this problem has been solved or anyone can help straight away would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance,

Regards,

Hi ryann2k1,

Do you connect the module via USB2Dyn. or CM5?

Best regards,
Hamid.
