Hi.

Don:t know where to post this, but since I build the robot using Kondo RCB3,
I might as well post it here.
The body design is base on Kondo KHR-2HV and one of the microprocessor is RCB3.

This is my 9th generation robots. Build it as a hobby.
SANDAI-MP09
System Automation Network Defense Artificial Intelligence Manganese Polymer.

Sound very cool, but the robot body itself is crappy, because it was build using the cheapest metal I can find.
It is about 0.8 Meters height.

It cost just under $8k to build, probably I can cut it in half if I take out some of the useless sensors.

LIVE DEMO is ready in a few days.

But here is some info:

Name: AI
Code Name: S.A.N.D.A.I-MP09

Height
-0.8 meter

Microprocssor
- RCB3
- Motorola Dsp 16bits processor contorller
- Cyrix 800Mhz with 8gig solid sated HD (Robot CPU)
- Server Central Data 1500 Gig
- Transfer data by RF and Wifi.

Software:
Internal OS 32bits (see below picture)

Servo
speed .18sec 60sec
65 kg.cm Max

Sensors
- Gyro
- Accelometer
- 8 pixel Thermal Array Sensor
- Proximity Detector
- Reflective sensor
- Touch Sensor
- Humidity Sensor
- Distance Sensor
- Motion Sensor-
- Pressure Sensor
- Temperature Sensor
- Ultrasonic sensor
- Toxic Gas sensors
- Natural Gas sensors
- CO2 sensors
- CO sensor
- Iso-Butane sensor

Special features
- Face REcongnition
- Speech
- Voice Recongnition
- Reading
- Math calculation from reading. (solving Differential and unknown equations)
- 3 Type Defence mode (currently simple toy gun, but should hit any moving target without missing 30feets)
- If someone enter the house which the robot does NOT recongnize. It will auto set to defense mode:
- It will MSN alert to the owner (with picture), and dial to the owner cellular phone.
- Night Vision
- ** CAN SEE THROUGH CLOTHING IN COLOR** yes, Sandai can see you naked with your clothe on.
- Stored the Robot memory and learn command.
- LCD to output learning command
- Approaches to object Intelligence.
- Can control your TV remote...(turn on TV and change inputs, vol, ch+ etc...)

Other features
- able to move around the surrounding without hitting the wall.
- Learning capacity to move from ROOM A to B by itself (Need to teach it a few times)
- Ask where the washroom is...Sandai will show you the way.
- able to do push-up, sit-up and sit; more human like move
- Can ask Sandai to phone your friends or leaves msn messages.
- Can change to manual mode from your office using internet browser (limit to function)
- Check your kids is sleeping or watching TV from your office. Can type from the browser "Go to sleep", the robot translate to voice "Go to sleep" from home.
- 2x12V battery. Manganese Polymer power source. (but for live demo it will be wire not battery)

Other features that are NOT finish.
(As soon I make fingers for Sandai)

- able to hold a broom, will be able to sweept the floor
- able to vacuum the room
- able to turn on tab water open and close. (almost done)
- able to bring/carry a glass/coffee mug when requested by the owner; max weight 1.4kg
- able to pour a water bottle into a glass.
- able to bend down and pick up oject ie. baseball bat.
- Recongnition of owner face and voice open door for family member

If you care whether anybody takes you seriously, you should probably get rid of the more outrageous claims, it just makes you look like a nutter.

Still, I'm sure we all look forward to the videos! Good luck!

hi all...

It took longer to do the demo than I thought...
I manage to do my first run. They are some minor bugs...
Some bugs such as lag time and voice regconition problem.
But hopefully, I will fix it for the next version of the software.
Also, redoing the body....to make it work better with the software.

thinking of adding some vantec servro for the legs and body...to give
360kg.cm (servo weight about 0.55Kg each) if I did my conversion correct. I should be able to re-design the robot to be 1.5 meter height.

Hoping to send out some few samples of the robot to research lab by the end of the summer/fall.

I hoping to put the software including the AI online as soon as possible.
Currently, the software runs on Alapha DEC machine.... needs to re-programing to windows PC enviroment so normal people can install.
Once I do that, I can put on my server for people to try out.

Also, starting doing more experiment "air tube" to make movement....
Manage to do some experiments and it looks great..... better than motor servo, but it cost a lot more...

it started out as a hobby, but I guess I overdid over the years..
anyway, demo run can be seen at

www.sakurasofts.com

If you want to try out the software, as soon as I convert to PC windows envirnment just email to me. info@NOSPAMsakurasofts.com

Very impressive, is it possible to see a video of the robot lining up and shooting from the victims eye view?

It would be interresting to see the body lining up for the shot.

Thanks

yes, I can do that...more demo.

there are two things before the robot shoot.

RED beam go out and aim at the target (like you see in the movie), then the
internal OS has it own "moving target box" as you see from the robot eye view demo video.
When those two meet/overlap together the robot will shoot.
The moving target box can detect 100+ feet.
The accurate of hitting on the object depends on the gun NOT on the robot.
So, in theory it can hit a target 100 feet away without missing.
However, I can:t really tested that far because my toy gun doesn:t shoot that far. I want to test the accuracy at 100 feet, but can't because I don:t have a toy gun that shoot that far.

It is very hard for me to test the robot, because my basement is badly design by the previous owner. 1 fuse for the entire basement.
Everytime I run the robot my fuse blow-out within a few mintues.
The robot is currently taking input at 12A which is too high for my basement. Everytime I run the robot I have to turn off all my computers, TV off, including most of the light in the basement.

I have to figure out.... to somehow cut down on the 12A .... then it can be run on MN-polymer battery. But that is the least of my problem... need to re-design the body first. Right now the body is too week to add anymore stuff to it.
