As I am newish to all this and wonder if someone could help me understand the difference betweent all the Kondo KHR bipeds.
e.g. KHR-1, KHR-2, HV, SP2.
I was thinking of buying a RN but I really wanted Hip rotation which I presume is the HV.
Actually it's kind of "none of the above". There are three robots currently in the KHR series-
KHR-1 - the original humanoid robot kit released a little over two and a half years ago.
KHR-2HV - the second generation of the KHR-1, released last summer. The 'HV' stands for high voltage (10.8 volts). Like the KHR-1, the KHR-2HV has 17 DOF.
KHR-1HV - a follow-on to the KHR-2HV, released at the end of 2006. It's often incorrectly written up in the press or on forums as having "hip rotation" - which would normally mean a single servo at the hip to allow the body to rotate. The KHR-1HV actually has two additional servos installed to allow independent rotation of each leg, giving it 19 DOF.
