Can I connect RCB to the serial port of my computer directly? What are the pin assisgnments on the board? Only three, Tx, Rx and GND?

No you need to use the usb dongle unless you create a custom PCB board.

Not easily, as Robo1 mentioned.

If I understood your previous posts correctly, the adapter and board were working initially since you zero'd the servos before assembling the robot.

Is there some reason why you can't uninstall the drivers completely at the OS level, then reinstall them?

It would seem that the problem is related to your use of FTclean, so a useful place to start would be to determine what the program does (did) and reset everything to the initial conditions. This write up might be useful:
