The Robonova has more sensor inputs and the KHR is more agile. So it kinda depends on what you want in a robot. I sugest getting a KHR they are my personal favorite. Also there is a awsome sale on the KHR-2HV starter kit. Here is the link for it.

Either you are a paid troll working for that company, or you are just plain stupid. Only an idiot or a troll would post links like that. Even worse, you stole images off the RoboPhilo site (illegal) and used them to get strokes from your favorite company so that they would praise you on their blog. And, you don't seem to have actually bought and built any humanoid from anyone yet.

What's the real story? Are they paying you, or are you pimping for them for free? Are you Captain Crunch in disguise? Enquiring minds want to know.

First off you are insane, Second you are a liar and finally I am reporting you. Next time if you have no idea what you are talking about think about what you say before you make a fool of you self.

Calling me names isn't very productive, and it hasn't bothered me since I was about 12 years old. The facts speak for themselves. All anyone has to do is to read through your posts on both sites.

You have the nerve to bring up name calling...lol Here are YOUR comments you made to me.

"you are a paid troll " "you are just plain stupid" "Only an idiot or a troll would post links like that" "you stole images off the RoboPhilo site" "you don't seem to have actually bought and built any humanoid from anyone yet" ect.

First of all I have nothing to prove to you and soon you will be eating your words.I took the time to look at your post history and it seems you do allot of this. Frankly people like you aren't worth arguing with because that seems to be your goal. I have reported you to the admin and I refuse to be dragged into a argument with you and I will not respond to anymore of your post so please do not harass me any further.

If you go to youtube.com and do a search for robonova you can find lots of examples of robonova's with different sensors and mods.

Guys, come on now. These forums are for robotics - whether it be education, fun, projects - you name it. We don't really need to be arguing over where one picture or a link came from in someone else's thread - if you have concerns, pm a mod or the person it is concerning. Lets see a show of hands, who remembers fun?

-koganinja
It's great that you now have the opportunity to get one of these robots. Are you referring to the original KHR, or the KHR-1HV? The original seems to be somewhat obsoleted, while the KHR-1HV is top of the line (including nice plastic brackets, extra degrees of freedom and more). There is also the KHR-2HV which you can see on the TrossenRobotics site (personally, I would look around before buying - just to make sure you find exactly what you want).

The RN-1 is also a good robot (and an excellent choice for beginners in my experience). It has the capability of many additional addons and has a large community on robosavvy. I personally have no experience with the KHR robots, but have had an RN-1 before and can attest that it is a great place to start. The programming is relatively easy and uses catch and play to develop movements. While the HiTec servos aren't nearly as strong as the Kondo servos (for the HV series), it still can do many cool moves.

I think that with either robot you choose, you will have a great experience. If you search the general section of these forums you will find more info on other threads where this same question has been answered. Good luck with your choice!

One other bot you might want to consider is the Robophilo. It should be available for sale for the holiday season. It under $500 and is easy to use .
Here is the link if you are interested:

If you're torn between the KHR's and the Robonova, definitely take software and community support into consideration. I like the mechanical aspects of the current Kondo line (plus I think they look cooler 8) ), but the software is kind of buggy and Kondo refuses to update the English version. However, if you can read Japanese, you're good to go

Robonova on the other hand has a huge, thriving community and good software. I do like Kondo's graphical programming environment, though. I only wish they'd do a bit more work to maintain the English version.

Also, Robophilo is going to be pretty damn cool.

First off, RoboPhilo has *no* blog to speak of (please correct me if I'm wrong).

Looking over DoidWorks' posts I found no picture of RoboPhilo.

And like Hive said, lets have fun!

Back in the old days of RoboSavvy, if we wanted to correct some thing someone said, we PMed them.

Also in those days we had a lot less "fighting". I under stand that there was also less people, but way can't we still have it like "the good old days"?

DroidWorks - I find it cool that you found a way to make money by doing robotics, but posting tons of links to Trossen Robotics so you can do it is *so* not cool.

Ghostrider - Thanks for sticking up for RoboSavvy, they are the people who have this very cool forum! And to keep it we need to buy from them too. Just don't take this too far.

Trossen Robotics - Please do not take this wrong, I like your site too, but this is getting to the point of spamming.

All the best,

Ok why is this stil a topic????? As far as posting a link to a US store I LIVE IN THE US. I imagine the shipping would be allot for the UK to the us. I post allot of links if it helps someone does it really matter? if he lives in europe he will buy from there if he lives in the US he buy from the US. this is such a nit picky non issue, I am sorry I ever tried to help this guy. I talked with limor and he seems to have no problem with my post so why are we even wating time talking about this. I refuse to address any more post about that damn link. It is kind of funny to me that Gostrider posted all kinds of insults and slander but that seems to bother no one. If it will make everyone happy and and stop brining up a stupid non issue like that link I will edit the post. Lets all just have fun and get allong, there is no reason to go on and on about nothing.

Please!
Don't take it too hard.

I did tell Ghost not to take it too far.

Limor is a very nice guy.
I have never found him to stop anyone from posting links to other sites.

Droid Works - Your site is just a link farm to Trossen Robotics.
It makes them look bad.

Now let's get back the this nice guys question who started this thread:

The RoboNova-1 is a nice robot, same with the Bioloid and KHR-1.

Some times it's nice for newbies to get a new answer on what robot to get. Instead of having them go dig up some old thread. (I find it quite so, when I'm new to some topic)

I don't want to control everyone, so do what you feel is best. Just remember - these posts will be here forever.
