KHR-1HV gyro and motions

Had time to plumb in my KRG3 gyro last night.

I used the analogue set-up button on the main menu bar to get things going and applied it to servos 13, 14 and 19, 20. (knee and ankle)

I've mounted the gyro on his shoulder at the moment, but i suspect it would be better to mount it at around waist level. any thoughts?

There seems to be a noticeable lag between the signal and a reaction.

I'm also unsure how to change the nature of the reaction.
ie. a gentle push requires only a slight counter balance move whereas a good shove would require a significant reaction.

I'm a bit short on sample motions at the moment, but just wondered whether anyone has any experience or motion samples (using the gyro) which they'd like to share? ie rate settings, servos affected etc.

Next job is the acceleration sensor. I plugged it in last night - but couldn't fathom what the different outputs (there are 2) do and how to use the readings.

I think i'm getting to the point where the dodgy japa-lish translation of both the manual and software is hampering my ability to work things out.
:(

I'm sure glad you're working out all these problems now. It will ensure smooth sailing when I get my 1HV and add gyros and accelerometer. Into the fray, old chap, and don't let them get the best of you. Put your back into it, lad!

i followed the things in

KHR2HVSP1.EXE <<extract
http://www.kondo-robot.com/html/KHR2HV_SUPPORT.html

even though it's 2hv its pretty much the same.
there are pictures and place on where u can put the gyros acceleratometer and the settings.

but it's in jap and i'm still trying to figure things out.

I don't know if this was already posted.

http://www.robospot.jp/html/robospot_motiondata.html

You need to convert 2HV motions to be used with the 1HV.

There is allot of 1HV info and files on my site http://droidworks.org I hope it is some help to you. Also if you are using just 1 gyro, I would suggest using 2.
