I have been doing a LOOOOOOTTTT of research on my next purchase ... but still up in the air on it

I know there is a nice following of KHR owners on this forum ... so I want to get your perspective ....

I can not decide on if I should go with a KHR (1 or 2) ... or start with a Lynxmotion BRAT with the intent of building it up to a full Lynxmotion Biped ... the argument for Lynmotion is that it can be reconfigered/redesign over and over and has more powerfull servos then the KHR ... and gives the user more range of design and control of a stronger bot ... Can some of you robonova owners give me your 2cents on this please

There is a reason you don't see the lynxmotion biped in events like the robogames. If you want performance then you want a kondo, manoi or one of the many other competition ready bipeds. Or if you want a config bot get a bioloid. The brat and lynx humanoid just don't have the performance.

you should also consider Bioloid if what you are looking for is "reconfiguring / redesigning over and over..". and the servos are better and designed for robotic applications.
The KHR's main advantage is it's aesthetic motion which is probably a result of weight distribution, weight/servo-torque and mechanical design.
The Robonova has metal brackets that can be mod'ed and a big support community (see wiki)

Didn't a Bioloid Humanoid win some sort of category at Robogames? Having a 200+ oz/in servos is plenty enough for competition IMO...

I looked at the Bioloid ... Not a big fan of plastic :( ... Looks like Lynxmotion beats everyone out on metal brackets ... even KHR has plasic joints also (and some metal) ... And I have read the RN1 is under powered and needs a complete servo upgrade to get the power it needs to be a good bot.

It sounds like no matter what anyone says you already have your mind made up. If you want the lexmotion humanoid kit then buy the lexmotion humanoid kit, but don't say we didn't warn ya..lol If you must buy a lexmotion kit the Johny5 kit is the best. It very cool kit and by adding a pico board it can do some awesome stuff.
