Communication problem***Sorted&Solved***

Howdy,

I hadn't used my KHR-1 in about a year.

Hey, work's been hectic. ("Work? Before robots?",
I know, I must be nuts :))

In that year my old computer, with a serial port
went belly up, and I got a new computer with
USB and Firewire, but no old fashioned serial port.

No problem, I got a Keyspan USB serial adapter

No problem that is, until today, when I finally
tried to hook the KHR-1 up to Heart2Heart

I changed the COM port setting to match the Keyspan adapter,
but I am unable read data off the KHR-1.

There does seem to be some communication happening
since if I turn on "sync" and adjust the channel sliders
the servos adjust accordingly and "sleep mode" can
be turned on and off.

So I seem to be able to send but not receive.

I would think that if the ICS PC interface was damaged
it would effect both "to" and "from" communication,
but hey I've been wrong before.

Anybody have any thoughts or USB to Serial settings
garnered from experience?

Thanks!

Problem Solved

The Solution?

Unplug the high quality, state of the art,
USB 2 compliant USB to Serial cable.

Go back to the store get the cheapest USB-Serial cable,
(with a much longer cable by the way) that's only USB 1.1
compliant, that doesn't have any fancy software, and
comes with drivers, but XP doesn't need them ,so don't
install them, and just plug it in.

Attach the ICS PC interface, attach the KHR-1

Fire everything up and everything works.

Sometimes cheap and simple is the best.

Can I use that on KHR-2HV? What is the pin assignments since I may have to jump some cables?
