Hi all, had the Robot a few weeks now and thought it was time to say Hi!
The name this way is Shane and im in Hastings.
The Robot is the 2HV and has a couple of mods the first being the head, built it out a bit to make it look a little better. The second is a set of hands or grips running on mini servos, they take there power from a separate regulator or they would fry. Last its running on lipo's 3-cell 800ma packs, that weigh only 1 gram more than the origional and fit in the same place so dont upset the balance.
All standard moves run fine with the new hands even the siderolls, but i did tweek that move as the landings were not always good.
Well there we have it i think thats enough from me for now, but when find out how to upload a pic ill stick one on.

Hi Ray, I will post a closer pic as soon as i find out how to upload to the site. I remember a post that said "upload the pics to maintain the integraty of the site" i think? guess it is somthing to do with lost links and pics. We will be doing some video soon (by we i mean me my oldest son, and a mate all have KHR2 HV) but we are waiting on some TEC-1 boards to get them wireless.

Hi Bren, I would love to go to the Robo-one competition but its a long way to go, 3-4 hours each way and i have 4 kids (cant always get a sitter!)6-8 hours in a car for the young ones is a bit much. If its ok to just turn up i will try to go if i can get a sitter, may see you there!
Not got all the moves sorted yet either, kicks and punches are in but the stair climb needs tweeking to the comp spec stairs( been using DVD boxes and some drill cases!)

Hi oroboros, Thanks and yes the grippers are home made, mini servos 3kg/cm metal gear, had to use a seperate regulator though so the servos will not burn out.
Wireless controllers are available, the one im going to use is the logitec PS2 controller with the TEC-1 board.

P.S if anyone knows how to upload pic to this site please let me know

P.P.S Dont worry i know how to do it now !!!

thanks

Hi Ray

Not sure what NC is?
But the grippers were made by hand, using a drill, hacksaw, vice(for the bending) and files to clean up the edges.
