Hello,

I fried 9 servos in my Kondo Robot a while back which I posted. I am now ready to purchase replacements. I see that their are other options besides the direct replacment. I have KRS 786 ICS Red servos. Can I mix the HV with my current servos? What differences would I expect to see? Will the Gyro I purchased work with the new servos?

Hi Trebor,

The controler board that you have, RCB-1, is designed to work at 6V hence it will not work with the High-Voltage servos (788). And the same is true for RCB-3 controller working with 10V input, will fry the 786 servos.

I don't think the KRG-2 gyro will work with the HV servos but I'll try to find out for sure.

How did you fry all 9 servos?

You may either replace 9 x 786 servos, or you can get the HV upgrade kit for the KHR-1, or just order a brand new KHR-2HV.. (all options available at http://robosavvy.com/store )

Hello Limor,

I plugged my robot into my power supply without noticing that the voltage was set to 14 volts. While the robot was booting up I started working on my laptop. When I looked at Kodo white smoke was bailing out of it.
