Does anyone kow what kind of range you can get reliably from the Kondo wireless controller?
I am looking to control the robot at 50 feet or so possibly with a wall in the way.
Thanks
50 feet might be ok, however walls could be a problem depending on the structure. The standard Kondo remote is based on RC technology that came from the RC plane world (the Kondo offices have some great RC planes hanging from the ceiling). While it works fine in most environments, people do have antenna orientation problems occasionally.
Operating too close to the robot, especially when the antennas aren't aligned, is a problem. I've also run into problems when events are held in buildings with lots of metal beams in the walls.
