"MELISSA", I think it is my most favourite Robot for Kondo Servo 
The company only selling the metal frames Sets but without any support e.g. motion files and ready-to walk kit. insuficient details that make one, especially beginner, hard to assembly the final product like the demo they provided ( movies in the web shop pages )
Here is one of the development example of the MELISA -- the HAND
Anyway, it is a great looking kit and very good for robot frighting

Hey , got in touch with crafthouse, the hands are not for sale, they are basically made for someone (some company) , but thye did say potentially on sale in the future.
But does anyone know how to make something like these?
I dont have the machinery to make something this small at all.

Ah the plastic ties, hmm did not think of them.
The only problem is getting something that small designed and made.
I was looking at getting it made in plastic as i know i can get it maufactured.
Might have a look at the plastic ties and design around it.

Awesome stuff really.
I ordered some cable ties today, about 2.5m wide.
The only problem i have in trying to design them is the overall size which is tiny.
I know how you could make them. Linking them together in a 2-1-2-1 frame. from hand/base to finger tip. But then manufacturing them could be quite difficult.
If your intrested and i come up with some designs would you take a look to see how viable they would be to cnc?

Hi Dave,
I already have a design on paper that i did today.
It's better that i do this myself because most designs don't take into account what's technical feasible and material efficient.
In the video they made use of bending the aluminium.
I will make them in one piece, no bending, much more accurate.
Tomorrow i will make a start with some milling.
It's difficult to explain without a picture but it's better to make use of materials that i already have like square aluminium rods of 6x6mm.
These will be milled into U-shaped pieces.

If you had peices that were like spade connectors the zip tie would be able to slot through them and not need securing anywhere but at the end.
But then you need to work out the way the fingers hinge and not bend backwards on themselves.
Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

Why not build your own?
I'm building them right now.
Not to difficult but a lot of work.
Just finished my 7th finger.
Should be ready within 2 weeks.
I'm thinking about just using 3 fingers and a thumb.
I like my robot to represent a robot not a replica of a human.
