Does anyone have any experience of the Kondo's KRG-3 sensor?
I have ordered two of them and hopefully I will get them next week.

hey SirAho

i have a khr-1 and ordered 1 krg-2 gyro, and now have ordered another with the cable.

i believe krg-3 is a gyro for use with KHR-2 as far as what i have read on some japanese sites.

Do you have a KHR-2?

Hi onesandzeros

Do you have a KHR-2?

Not yet. It should arrive on monday. It all depend on the customs check. I bought KHR-2 HV plus these following things:

2 X KRG-3
1 X KRC-1 contol set
1 X Battery HV D
1 X RAS-1
1 X ICS-USB Red Version

believe krg-3 is a gyro for use with KHR-2 as far as what i have read on some japanese sites.

I read that also. But I haven't found so much more about it then that.

Received my KHR-2 ,2 KRG-3, KRC-1. On assembly one bad servo smoked as soon as I turned on power, I tried it on another pin bank to make sure it wasn't the board and same thing, looks like it didn't damage the board. English HEARTtoHEART3 would be nice. I'll update when the KRG-3 is installed.

hey zulu, congrats on ur robot.
too bad to hear one servo is smoked already :(
u could just use that one for the head in the mean time i suppose.

if you manage to get those gyros werking, thatl be cool

does anyone at this point know is there will be an upgrade board for the khr-1 while allowing to keep same servos?

I built up my KHR-2HV and one servo fried, too. I connected it while power on, but I am not sure if that was the reason for burning.

When connected the servo, it took 8A of current and smell was bad. I opened the servo and noticed that one big SMD-capasitor was burned under the small circuit board. I soldered it out from the other end. Since that the servo has worked perfectly. To make sure it will not cause any other problem, I replaced the long cord with short one and use the servo as a head.

And for KRG-3, is it a one, two or three channel device ? It seems to have 3 pins only, so I suppose it supports one channel (or axel or direction) only ?

one axis, but the new RCB3J board that comes with the KHR2 allows the input from one sensor to affect multiple servos by various multiples through the HeartToHeart3 software. The RCB3J also has three inputs for Analog/Digital sensors, the sensors plug directly into the board instead of between the servos as on the krg2.

Hi Zulu,

Do you have your gyro working? I have a KHR-2HV with the KRG-3, but the only instructions are in japanese and there are no diagrams (at least none that are of any use).

If you could give me a hint on how to mount the thing and where to plug it in I would be grateful. Is it totally automatic, or does it also interface with the software?

Thanks,

Thanks for the tip, but the website wasn't intuitive enough for me to even find the advanced manual. :(

Anybody have a direct link, or maybe even a transalted copy?

Thanks for the tip, but the website wasn't intuitive enough for me to even find the advanced manual.

Download and run this:
http://www.kondo-robot.com/AppData/KHR2HVSP1.EXE

It creates a folder with example code and documents. The documents are in Japanese but I think you will get it.

Good luck!

hey

i have installed the gyros
after starting with original settings from the RCB3J english manual instructions....a link is below,
i fiddled a bit and the difference is rather noticable - stability wise...have a read tru manual, there is enuff info to get them installed and shows you where,it has some numbers for you to wack in the settings boxes in H2H3, you may have to detune them a little but its a good starting point.
if you have any difficulty understanding it (tranlation is not perfect  ) let me know as i think i have a grasp on things.

the pictures for mounting gyros seem to only be in the japanese .pdf file so grab that too, from kondo, link also provided

hope this is of some help
