Hi all...

My name is Juergen and I' m from Germany.

I wanna buildup my KHR-3HV which arrived a few days ago. I' m really a newbie on this sector but this robot looks great.

timetable:

1. buildup
2. testing with japanese software (I hope the english version is coming soon :D )
3. program my own gaits
4. make a suit for the robot
5. prepare for remote control
6. install gyro and acceleration sensor

The parts of this kit are made from high quality - perfect - I love it.

Regards Juergen

(and sorry for my bad english :? )

Hi guys,

I assemble the torso and the legs. The parts fit absolutely correct. This kit is perfect grade.

On this pic two brackets are marked with ID3. You can add two more Kondo KRS-2552HV ICS Red Version Servos for ellbow rotation.

You also see three brackets for adding 3 more DOF. ID5 for hip rotation le./ri. and ID0 for waist rotation.

This thing is awesome...

Hi guys...

my robot' s finished.........YEEHAW..........

I got some problems with the Kondo charger. We have 220 V power supply therefore I bought a 220-110 voltage converter.

I' ve sighted the japanese manual but I can' t read anything.

I translated the first sites from the jap. manual and I was surprised cause the Kondo MX-201 is a discharger/charger.

Kondo MX-201 (input DC 100V)

Image
KHR-3HV manual page 4/5

1. connect to power
2. led lights red
3. connect NiMH-battery
4. charge if led lights green

or

1. connect to power
2. led lights red
3. connect battery
4. press discharge button
5. led lights orange
6. led turns red if battery is discharged
7. charge if led lights green

In the first attempt I discharge the battery and wondered that nothing happened.

starting with a neutral position

power on -> start HTH4 -> create folder -> create file "home position"

Now I have the robot powered - all servos goto neutral position.
Looks crazy - like a basejumper...

Image
KHR-3HV manual page 71

It' s very easy to adjust the servos. Schedule for this adjustment a little more time. The servos should be adjusted very precisely.

I spent a little more time to fine tune all servos later. Now I have to wait until the battery is charged.

*cheers*

I wanna drink a MILLER...

Your robot looks great! How are you managing using the Japanese Heart 2 Heart software? Any vids of it moving? Did you get 2 gyro sensors or just 1?

Hi Russell,

thanks a lot - the KHR-3HV looks really good. :D

Sorry, no vids cause I wanna build my own robot like a mech.
Currently I disassembled the robot to change the servo from the arms to chest for hip- and waist-rotation.
My "Mech" get reverse knee joints and a hull.
In the next time I' m forming a body armor made of polystyrene.

In foreseeable future I will get two gyro sensors (to control x and y axis - right/left and forward/reverse). It make no sense to install only one.

The new H2H-4 software is relatively simple to use. I just experimented with the buttons and load all pre-programmed motions from CD and tested it.
Because I wanna build my own Mech I use the software V1.0 from the disk. The updated version V1.1 don' t work correctly. I don' t know why - I think it' s the updated version for the 5 more DOF.

But for the final programming I need the english manual for exploit all functions.

More pics to come once I'm back home.

I bought some polystyrene and aluminum for the armor. Overall, I don' t want to spend more than 500 g of additional weight. The servo shouldn' t be overused.

As a base color I choose dark yellow from Tamiya (spray paint). I would prime with Tamiya primer for plastic and metal (fine, grey spray paint) before.

I precipitated the digital camouflage pattern. e.g.

It' s a long way to completion...

Hi all,

recently I have build some parts for my robot.

The structure of the KHR3-HV sets the following scale (1:35). I wanna scratch-build the Vulture (Mad Dog) from Mechwarrior.

Because I have no precise information my assault mech will not match 100%. Never mind...

The following link shows my favorite:

Mech from Crysis Game

AWESOME...

my current progress of construction:

right main gun

Image

Image

into the marked holes the hydraulic connection dummies are placed later

torso with right gun

Image

torso with left rocket pod

feet extension (prototype)

Image

I' ve built with polystyrene 0,5 / 0,75 / 1 and 2 mm thickness. The screws are made of stainless steel and 2 mm in diameter (M2 metric).

to be continued...

unfortunately, NO... :(

The "rail gun" and "missile launcher" are dummies. When I programmed the gaits and motions and the servos aren' t overheated, I play with the idea to install the mechanic of soft-air weapons (e.g. from soft-air battle tanks).

First I have to check the total weight.

Hi guys, I am interested, how you people assembling the the parts of robot. I want to gather some preliminary idea. The photographs are really informative. I have also heard that, the new H2H-4 software is relatively simple to use. What is the software you are using to build KHR-3HV.
