A new member of our robot club brought in a KHR-1 last week. She's had it for several years but never got past having it run through a series of motions when it starts up. She is kind of offering this as a club project.
The first objective is to add a remote control to it. After that probably gyros or some type of tilt sensor for sabilization. As I understand it the KHR-1 has little or no programing interface but can be controlled through a serial interface. Right now I'm thinking that my first hack at this would be to just put a Wi-fi to serial port converter on it and do all the control programing on a laptop.
I need to know a lot more about the KHR-1 control interface in order to tell if this is posible. Apparently she ordered this robot directly from Japan, and all of the instructions she got were in Japanese. Can someone suggest a good web page (or any other source) for english information on controling this robot?
