I'm planning to build an self-designed robot, and looking for the most suitable servos.

The KRS-786ICS that are in the KHR-1, do they come with any of these capabilities?
- motion/force sensors (for e.g. force feedback)
- position sensors
- any memory capabilities
- relaying capabilities (e.g. daisy chain)

I'd greatly appreciate any information, thx.

Not really..
- position sensors

Yes
- any memory capabilities

Yes, they have some flash used to store several configurable parameters (see the software page on this site's main tree menu)
- relaying capabilities (e.g. daisy chain)

no.. the Kondo robot model is a star model.

There are some funky expensive servos from megarobotics and robotis.
also Hitec (which may be offered soon on this site).

I'm curious to hear if you find servos with all these features.

Thanks a lot for the info.

Is the servo position sensor supported by the hardware/software that comes with the KHR-1, or do I have to go with 3rd party or own stuff?

It seems that the KRS-784ICS was slightly different mechanically than the red version 786ICS which was in the later KHR-1 boxes. No noticeable differences were reported AFAIK.
