I made #6! Man, that's cool that my robot was recognized, but there's so many in that list that tower over my RN-1... at least for now

Rayered-X is the coolest. Its universal limbs let it morph into different forms to suit different tasks. Rayered-X is the coolest. Its universal limbs let it morph into different forms to suit different tasks. After seeing people design robots patterned after nature, its refreshing to see something 'unnatural'. But is that name an Asian linguist joke? Asurada-san picked the 'Rayered-X' name for his creation by combining 'ray' with 'layer'. He always tries to create something unusual or striking. He's also quite the showman. His demonstration during the ROBO-ONE 9 competition was one of my favorites.

They don't reveal how the judges score the entries on individual factors - they only disclose the total score for each robot, but I have to believe that Rayered-X made it into the top 32 based primarily on how different and unique it was.

Unfortunately Rayered-X doesn't do extremely well in the head to head bouts. Its COG is too high and all the weight (4 kg.) makes it too easy to tip over. Black Seed (Team Liliac) defeated him during ROBO-ONE 9 just by reaching out and flipping up on one of Rayered-X's arms.

During the Robo-Fight 3 ORC competition in Osaka a few weeks ago, he lost both of his bouts - the first to King Kiyser, which is understandable, and then to WR-07 - Nakamura's transformer robot that is usually fairly easy to defeat.
