Works on Self Reconfigurable Robots

Hi all
A professor from Heriot-Watt University has been very active in discussing and researching Self Configurable Robots.
He is actually a customer of Robosavvy and yesterday he sent us some very nice samples of the kind of work he's doing on this area.

This underline idea of my research is to use the same set of actuators to carry out different tasks in different modes.
To carry out the above tasks, one usually needs six actuators instead of three used here. In addition, the control is also simplified.
The above example may not be practical and is just used to give you a rough idea about this classes of reconfigurable robots.
Reconfigurable robots may adapt to changing environment and can be switch-over in a short time. I served as the Programme Chair
of the International Conference on Reconfigurable Mechanisms and Robots in June, which was a great success. Such topic are receiving attention from researchers around the world.
